Let me show you how to make a Chocolate Bunny Easter Mocktail, two ways! They have a creamy base, but one is amaretto and coconut while the other is rum and espresso. Both are rich, fun, and festively fantastic.

Best part, you can eat the bunny after you are done drinking your mocktail.

This goes great other Easter treats like my Bunny Popcorn Snack Mix and No Bake Birds Nest Cookies!

Chocolate Bunny Easter Mocktail – 2 Ways!

For the past few years I have been eyeing these super adorable chocolate bunny cocktails. Everytime I see one I feel immediately inspired and in the mood for Easter. After searching around I could only find alcoholic versions, so I thought I would put my non alcoholic spin on them!

This recipe has 2 versions, one for a white chocolate bunny and a milk chocolate bunny. The white chocolate bunny mocktail is creamy, light, and has hints of almond and coconut.

The milk chocolate bunny mocktail is also creamy but with a rum and espresso flavor. Both versions of this mocktail…

  • Look like an actual bunny… in my recipe you don’t chop the ears off.
  • The cutest drink option for Easter dinner, springtime brunch, or just because you want a beautiful mocktail.
  • Holds about 3 ounces of liquid. It’s the perfect amount because this is a rich and indulgent mocktail.

Chocolate Bunny Easter Mocktail Ingredients

Each version of this mocktail is only 4 ingredients, not including the chocolate bunny. Keep reading for additional notes and potential substitutions.

  • Hollow Chocolate Bunny: Choosing a quality chocolate bunny is so important. After all, they are the star of the show! I used Lindt chocolate bunnies because they are thick and the flavor is epic.

White Chocolate Bunny:

  • Half and Half: The creamy base of our mocktail. You can use milk in its place, just keep in mind the consistency and flavor will differ.
  • Non Alcoholic Amaretto: This brings the delicious almond flavor. I use Lyre’s Amaretti because it is SPOT ON in the flavor department. I also love how it’s allergen free and low in calories.
  • Spice 94: This non alcoholic spirit from Seedlip lightens up our mocktail and gives the almond and coconut a boost. It makes a huge difference so I do not recommend leaving it out.
  • Cream of Coconut: I always use Coco Re’al brand because it has a great sweet coconut flavor. Coconut simple syrup is a great substitution.

Dark or Milk Chocolate Bunny:

  • Half and Half: See note above.
  • Non Alcoholic Rum: A dark rum tastes best with espresso. I used Lyre’s Spiced Cane Spirit but also like Lyre’s Dark Cane Spirit too. Both are allergen free and low in calories.
  • Espresso: Feel free to use your favorite brand. Make sure it is at room temperature before making your mocktail or it will melt your bunny.
  • Simple Syrup: This is used to sweeten the mocktail. Feel free to use store bought or homemade.

Bar Equipment Needed

  • Shaker Bottle: These are great for shaking up our mocktails and it makes pouring easier.
  • Something Sharp: This is to carve a hole in the chocolate bunny. I used one of my metal cocktail pins but anything with a small, sharp tip would work.
  • Small Funnel: To help us pour the mocktail into our bunnies without spilling. I love this 3 piece mini funnel set.
  • Straws: I used standard sized paper straws. I did have to cut them down so they didn’t tower over my bunny.
Ingredients Needed for both Mocktails. White chocolate bunny with non alcoholic amaretto, seedlip spice 94, half and half, cream of coconut. Milk chocolate bunny with non alcoholic rum, half and half, espresso, and simple syrup.

How to Make a Chocolate Bunny Easter Mocktail

Both versions of this Chocolate Bunny Easter Mocktail are made the same, despite the different ingredients. Here’s a super quick summary of the steps, the recipe card will have complete details.

1. PREP THE CHOCOLATE BUNNY. Unwrap your hollow chocolate bunny and then use a small, sharp, metal object to poke a hole into it. Continue rotating and carving a hole into the top neck portion of the bunny until a small funnel will fit.

2. MAKE YOUR MOCKTAIL. In a cocktail shaker add the ingredients (from whichever mocktail you choose) and shake until smooth. Slowly pour into the funnel until the chocolate bunny is filled. Add a straw and sip!

3. Pouring the mocktail from a shaker bottle into a small funnel until the chocolate bunny is filled.

Important Recipe Notes

INSPECT YOUR BUNNY! Funny story, I had a friend try this mocktail and there was a small hole in the base of her bunny. The mocktail spilled out EVERYWHERE when she started to pour it in! So, I cannot stress this enough, check your bunnies for small holes and cracks.

USE A FLAME. If you’re having a hard time carving out a hole in your chocolate bunny you can heat up your sharp object. Only do this with metal objects, and you can use the flame from a candle or from your stove. But you would be surprised how a little bit of heat can help speed up the process.

MAKE KID FRIENDLY VERSIONS. This recipe is written for adults but you can make it kid friendly by filling them with chocolate milk, orange soda, strawberry milk, root beer, or whatever you want. Technically kids can drink non alcoholic spirits but I like to think of them as something for adults only.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Where do I buy non alcoholic spirits for this mocktail?

I buy many of mine from Amazon because it’s easiest for me. NA spirits are also beginning to show up at local grocery stores like Meijers, CVS stores, Target, etc.

2 Chocolate Bunny Easter Mocktails garnished with a straw, mint leaves, and mini edible flour. One mocktail is white chocolate, another is milk chocolate, and there is a gold wrapped chocolate bunny in the background.

RECIPE NOTES

Make Kid Friendly Versions

  • The white chocolate bunny goes great with strawberry milk, orange soda, or root beer.
  • The dark and milk chocolate bunny goes with chocolate milk, or white milk.
  • Kids and teens can drink non alcoholic spirits, although I do not personally recommend it. I would try one of the recommendations above or make your own kid-friendly concoction.
