What Is A Sangria Mocktail?
Sangria is a traditional Spanish drink made with red wine, fruit juices, fruit, and sweetener. It is enjoyed year around and for good reasons, it is delicious!
This Sangria Mocktail is a mock sangria or non alcoholic sangria using alcohol removed wine, fruit juices, fruit, sweetener, and spices. It is similar to traditional sangria except everyone can enjoy this one and it is a white sangria instead of a red sangria.
Why This Apple Cider Sangria Is PERFECT For Entertaining …
- It’s a MOCKTAIL which means everyone can enjoy it.
- Make it ahead of time, up to a day in advance.
- Easily double or triple the recipe depending on how many people you are serving.
- It is versatile, adaptable, and easy to make your own (suggestions down further).

Apple Cider Sangria Mocktail Ingredients
There are only 7 ingredients in this Apple Cider Sangria, all are simple and packed with autumn flavors.
- Alcohol Removed White Moscato: I like the brand Fre by Sutter Homes because it tastes great and it is well priced (not sponsored).
- Apple Cider: I like to use locally made cider from the apple orchard.
- Ginger Beer (non- alcoholic): This adds bubbles and another flavor note.
- Simple Syrup: I prefer to make my own, but you can always use store-bought. Here are a few recipes:
- Apples and Pears: Use any types you prefer, I used Fuji apples and Bosc pears. Make sure they are thoroughly washed too (we don’t want wax and pesticides in our sangria.
- Cinnamon Sticks: Make sure they are food grade cinnamon sticks (typically found in the spice or baking aisle of your grocery store).

How to Make Apple Cider Sangria Mocktail
- Slice your apples and pears. Don’t forget to wash them well first. I like to slice them thin while keeping their whole shape. You can also chop them into chunks.
- Add the fruit and cinnamon sticks to a large pitcher or punch bowl.If you have large cinnamon sticks like I did, breaking them in half or thirds is best.
- Pour in the alcohol removed white Moscato, apple cider, ginger beer, and simple syrup.
- Stir and Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. This helps the flavors to develop and meld together making your sangria even tastier.

4 Tips For Serving It Up At A Party:
- Make it the night before so you have one less thing to worry about the day of your party (yes please!) When you do this combine all the ingredients (except for the ginger beer or you’ll lose all the carbonation) and refrigerate. Right before you are about to serve the sangria, pour in your ginger beer and stir well.
- Place ice tongs with your sangria so party guests can take cinnamon sticks, apple, and pear slices. You can also serve more on the side if you do not want your guests removing them from the sangria.
- If your sangria starts to go flat as the party goes on, you can revive it by adding a bit of tonic water or more ginger beer. The bubbly will give it life.
- Make two versions for the party, one with alcohol removed wine and one with alcoholic wine. Just be sure to label them.

Sangria Mocktail Variations
The great thing about sangria is it is so versatile, and you can easily make this recipe your own.
Substitute the white Moscato for other white wines like Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, or sparkling juice. Keep in mind the alcohol removed wine is the major ingredient and will impact the sangria. A dry wine may need more simple syrup, a sweeter sparkling juice may need less simple syrup.
Add other fruits like green grapes, plums, cranberries, oranges, lemons, pomegranate seeds, etc.
Use a combination of juices, apple cider with pear juice, pomegranate, orange, cranberry, or even grape juice.
Make it spicy! Not spicy … but with additional whole (not ground) spices like cardamom, star anise, ginger, clove, nutmeg, mulling spices, etc.
Swap the ginger soda for other bubbly drinks like ginger ale, 7 Up, Sprite, tonic water, sparkling water, etc. Basically, anything carbonated that will give bubbles to your sangria mocktail.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
This recipe is sweet, but not overly sweet, because of the white Moscato wine. If you are looking for a drier option, you can omit the simple syrup or substitute the white Moscato for Pinot Grigio or other dry white wines.
When you are not serving it, it should be refrigerated and drank within 3 days. It does keep for up to a week but after 3 days the flavor becomes flat. You can always add a splash of ginger beer or apple cider to boost the flavors.
Alcohol removed wine is found at most major grocery stores (in with the alcoholic wines) and it can also be bought online. I like the brand Fre by Sutter Wines because it tastes exactly like Moscato and it is most commonly found.

The perfect fall mocktail!!
This is my new favorite fall cocktail. It is refreshing, not too sweet, and perfectly apple-y!
I love the beautiful fall atmosphere of this drink. I try to avoid too much alcohol, and having something like this on hand for fall entertaining will be a lifesaviour.
My family loved that they got all the flavor of a cocktail but none of the alcohol! Really lovely sangria!
I just LOVE the fruity flavors in this sangria, and it was nice to have a fancy non-alcoholic drink to share with friends that don’t drink/are driving home! This will be a welcome addition to our holiday table!
