This is the BEST margarita mocktail, and all you need is 4 ingredients! It’s sweet, tart, fizzy and incredibly quick and easy to make. I guarantee you won’t even miss the alcohol.

Serve it with my Cottage Cheese Taco Dip and tortilla chips. It also goes great with a handful of Ranch Snack Mix.

Raise your hand if you love margaritas… me too!

So, I’ve ditched alcohol completely and one thing I miss is a good margarita. I wanted it to be the same sweet, sour, salty, magic that hits your soul, but without the booze and without the nasty margarita mixes. After lots of trial runs this margarita mocktail really knocks it out of the park.

My recipe uses only fresh ingredients and has a splash of club soda that gives it so much life. I honestly think it’s the carbonation that really lifts all the flavors. But now I can enjoy that perfect margarita taste anytime, and so can you! Morning, noon, or night – it doesn’t matter. No regrets, just refreshing satisfaction.

For other non alcoholic margarita recipes, try my Jalapeno Margarita Mocktail or this Cranberry Margarita Mocktail. I also have a Paloma Mocktail recipe which is basically margarita’s grapefruit cousin.

Margarita Mocktail Ingredients

A basic non alcoholic margarita is made with 4 simple ingredients. Keep reading because I give a few important notes on each ingredient.

  • Limeade: Simply or Santa Cruz are two bottled brands of limeade I recommend. You can also make your own with powdered drink mixes or concentrate.
  • Orange Juice: Feel free to use bottled or freshly squeezed. If you go with bottled, aim for no sugar added and pulp free for the best texture and flavor.
  • Sweetener: Use whatever you have on hand. It can be simple syrup, honey, maple syrup, or even agave.
  • Club Soda: Adding bubbles is essential to boosting the flavors in a mocktail. I prefer club soda or mineral water because it is free of calories, but tonic water is another good option.

To garnish our mocktail we will need flaky sea salt, lime zest, and lime wedges. The garnish is completely optional but definitely rounds out the experience.

The 3 BEST Non Alcoholic Tequila Options

This recipe can be made with or without non alcoholic spirits. If you’re looking for a more authentic tasting margarita, I recommend splurging on the non alcoholic tequila. It is truly fabulous and one of my most favorite spirits, after gin (*wink*).

1. Lyre’s Agave Blanco SpiritIt’s light and bright with citrus and agave notes. It has the peppery finish you get from alcohol, without being overwhelming on the tongue. It’s only 3 calories per serving, vegan, and allergen free.

2. Free Spirit’s TequilaIf you love mezcal, this one’s for you! It is on the smoky side with notes of agave, smoke, and dark oak. It does have vitamins B3 and B6 for energy, is naturally gluten free, and only 10 calories per serving.

3. Rital Zero Proof Tequila AlternativeThis one is balance of the two above. It is citrusy and smokey with the peppery finish. It is 0 calories per serving, and the least expensive non alcoholic tequila I have found.

Keep in mind, all zero proof spirits are unique and some will taste better than others depending on your taste preferences. These are my honest recommendations and opinions, in no particular order.

How to Make a Margarita Mocktail

This non alcoholic margarita is incredibly easy to make, and I’ll show you! Don’t forget to grab a cocktail shaker, your favorite margarita glasses, and a long-handled stirrer or spoon.

1. DECORATE THE RIM. Rub the rim of your glass with a lime wedge and immediately coat it with flaky sea salt and lime zest.

2. SHAKE AND POUR. Add the lime juice, orange juice, sweetener, and optional non alcoholic tequila to a cocktail shaker and shake until the sweetener has dissolved. Pour it into your glass with ice and top it off with club soda.

3. GARNISH AND SERVE. Lightly stir the margarita mocktail and garnish with a lime wedge. Sip and enjoy!

Fun Variations That’ll Make This Margarita Your Own

Here are a few recipe variations that I commonly make when I want to shake things up.

Swap the orange juice for other fruit juices like mango, pineapple, blueberry, or whatever you’d like. Just make sure you’re using 100% fruit juice.

Flavor it with infused simple syrups! This is a great way to add sweetness and flavor at the same time. My favorites are grenadine syrup (pomegranate), strawberry simple syrup, or jalapeno simple syrup for a little spice.

Spice up the rim of your glass. Instead of using flaky sea salt, try Tajin, chili powder, or even sugar.
