How to Make Creamy Mango Lemonade

Here is a quick overview, the recipe card below will have complete details.

For the Mango Puree:

  1. Blend the thawed mango chunks and sugar together until smooth in consistency.
  2. Scoop a quarter cup of the mango puree into your glasses and place in the freezer to firm up while you make the Creamy Lemonade.

For the Creamy Lemonade:

  1. Clean your lemons! We don’t want wax and chemicals from the zest in our drinks.
  2. Zest one lemon or until you have one tablespoon of fresh lemon zest.
  3. Juice five to six lemons or until you have one and a quarter cups of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  4. Blend the lemon zest, juice, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, cold water, and ice in a blender until smooth and creamy.
  5. Pour an equal amount of the Creamy Lemonade over the firm mango puree, add a straw and serve immediately!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Do I Need To Use A Blender?

NO, not at all. The blender gives this drink a slushy consistency which is perfect for summer but not required. Without the blender you will follow the recipe as directed and the only difference is your ice and fruit will stay whole and you will be stirring instead of blending.

Can I use something other than mango puree?

Of course, have fun with it and make it your own! If for any reason you need to substitute the mango, I recommend equal amounts of another fruit in it’s place. Fruits like strawberry, peach, or blackberry would be fabulous.

Can Creamy Mango Lemonade be made ahead of time?

I do not recommend making it ahead of time or the drink will melt and separate. It is best served cold and as you need it.

Can I add alcohol to make this a boozy lemonade?

Yes, this would taste great with tequila, whipped vodka, and even white rum.

RECIPE NOTES

* Notes on mango puree: I used mango chunks from the frozen section of the grocery store. I allowed them to come to room temperature before blending. Depending on how sweet your mango chunks are you can omit, decrease, or increase the sugar to your liking.

I just made this and my whole family loved it. I have two boys that would never eat mango and they both loved it! I couldn’t fit all 6 cups of water into my Vitamix along with the other lemonade ingredients, so I ended up leaving out 2 cups of water. I later realized I could have poured it into a larger pitcher and stirred it together. Oh well. It was delicious and just right. Thanks for the amazing recipe!!!! Will definitely be making again and probably as an adult drink 😉
