This fresh Strawberry Mule Mocktail is sweet and fruity with a spicy kick from the ginger ale. It’s just 5 ingredients, takes only minutes to make, and is the perfect summertime drink.

Pair it with my high-protein Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip and a platter of veggies.

2 copper mugs filled with a fresh Strawberry Mule Mocktail. It's garnished with a whole strawberry and mint leaves.

There’s nothing like that first sip when a drink hits just right. This Strawberry Mule Mocktail is sweet strawberries mixed with a little honey, lime, and spicy ginger that’s totally refreshing! Other fruit mocktails end up way too sweet but because of the ginger beer, it’s perfectly balanced.

On another note, did you know Moscow Mules are traditionally served in copper because it keeps them ice-cold longer than normal glassware. It isn’t just about Instagram-worthy aesthetics, but don’t they look good?!

For more Mules, try my classic Moscow Mule Mocktail, Grapefruit Mule Mocktail, or this fall-inspired Apple Cider Mule Mocktail.

Strawberry Mule Mocktail Ingredients

Here’s everything you will need to make this no alcohol mule, plus a couple important notes.

  • Fresh Strawberries: Don’t forget to give these a wash before slicing and using.
  • Raw Honey: This adds a little sweetness but can be omitted if you’re going for a lighter calorie mocktail. You can also use simple syrup, agave, maple syrup, or another liquid sweetener.
  • Lime Juice: Fresh is best because it isn’t bitter like bottled juices.
  • Ginger Beer: Look for a brand that is made with real ginger and has no artificial sweeteners. I recommend Reed’s Extra Ginger Brew, or Fever Tree Premium Ginger Beer.
  • Club Soda: This adds another level of bubbly that really makes it taste like a cocktail (even though it isn’t). You can also use tonic water, mineral water, or even sparkling water.

How to Make a Strawberry Mule Mocktail

You won’t believe how easy this one is. It’s just a little blending and mixing, keep reading!

1. Blend up the strawberry puree. Blend together the sliced strawberries, honey, and lime juice in a food processor (or blender) until smooth.

2. Mix together your mocktail. In a copper mug add the strawberry puree, ginger beer, and club soda. Stir, garnish, and sip!

Recipe Variations

Strawberries not in season? Use strawberry preserves instead. I recommend starting with 2 tablespoons and adding more as needed.

Muddle the strawberries instead of blending. If you don’t have a food processor or blender, you can crush and muddle the strawberries with the simple syrup instead. Just note, the mocktail will have chunks of strawberry rather than being all liquid.

Lighten up and make this a super skinny Strawberry Mule Mocktail with Barritt’s Diet Ginger Beer. It’s zero calories and no sugar (without an odd aftertaste). The flavor is on the lighter side when it comes to ginger but still a great option.

Make it kid friendly with ginger ale. Or if you’re kiddos don’t like ginger, you can use lemon lime soda too.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Is there a non-alcoholic vodka I can add?

I tested this recipe with ArkayStrykk, and CleanCo, but they really did not live up to the flavor of a traditional mule. I personally do not recommend them, but if you want to try them add 2 ounces to one mule mocktail.

Can I use frozen strawberries instead of fresh?

No, I do not recommend using frozen strawberries because of their lack of flavor. If you want to swap out the fresh strawberries, strawberry preserves are a better choice.

RECIPE NOTES

* Optional non-alcoholic vodka – Brands I have tried include ArkayStrykk, and CleanCo. Full disclosure, they really did not live up to the vodka flavor and I do not recommend them. I included them for those experimenting with non-alcoholic spirits.
