This fruity Strawberry Mule Mocktail is the perfect balance of strawberry and ginger, but without the sugar overload. And the copper mugs aren't just aesthetic, they keep things refreshingly ice-cold!
4ouncesclub soda - or replace with 2 ounces non alcoholic spirits *
INSTRUCTIONS
To a food processor (or blender), add the sliced strawberries, raw honey, and freshly squeezed lime juice. Blend until it becomes a smooth liquid.
Fill a copper mug 1/3 of the way with ice. Add the strawberry puree, ginger beer, and tonic water. Stir until well combined and garnish with a fresh strawberry.
RECIPE NOTES
* Optional non-alcoholic vodka - Brands I have tried include Arkay, Strykk, and CleanCo. Full disclosure, they really did not live up to the vodka flavor and I do not recommend them. I included them for those experimenting with non-alcoholic spirits.
RECIPE VARIATIONS
Use strawberry preserves when strawberries are not in season. I recommend starting with 2 tablespoons and adding more as needed.
Cut calories and sugar with Barritt’s Diet Ginger Beer. The flavor is on the lighter side when it comes to ginger but still a great option (without an odd aftertaste).
Make it kid friendlywith ginger ale or lemon lime soda instead of ginger beer.
