You’re going to want to add this 10 minute Iced Mint Green Tea to your summer tea rotation. With fresh mint, earthy green tea, a touch of honey and lemon, it’s a perfectly balanced and refreshing summer drink.
Have you heard the warning about planting mint in the ground? Apparently you’re not supposed to plant mint directly in the ground or it will take over an entire area. I ignored that warning and this year I have had so much mint!
This iced tea was the perfect use of it too. The mint pairs so well with the light and earthly green tea, sweeten it with a little honey and balance things out with lemon… so refreshing. And guess what?! This recipe takes 10 minutes to make.

Iced Mint Green Tea Ingredients
This recipe is 5 simple ingredients. Keep reading for important notes and potential substitutions. You’ll also want to grab a large pitcher and your teapot.
- Green Tea: You’ll need 3 to 5 green tea bags, 5 if you want a strong green tea flavor. If you’re using loose leaf green tea you’ll need about 1.5 to 2.5 teaspoons.
- Mint: Make sure you’re using fresh, sweet mint and don’t forget to wash it first.
- Honey: This is used to lightly sweeten the tea and reduce any bitterness. Feel free to use maple syrup, agave, simple syrup, or sugar free liquid sweeteners.
- Fresh Lemon Juice: You will need the juice of a half lemon to add brightness and acidity. It is optional but does taste really good in this.
- Water: No explanation needed here.
How to Make Iced Mint Green Tea
1. Steep the mint green tea. Add the water to your tea pot and bring it to a boil. Remove from the heat and add the honey, green tea bags and mint leaves. Let that steep.
2. Pour and ice the mint green tea. Into a large pitcher with ice, pour in the steeped and sweetened tea. Squeeze in the lemon juice and give it a good stir before pouring into glasses. Optional, you can garnish with mint and a slice of lemon.
Storing Your Iced Tea
This Iced Mint Green Tea needs to be stored in the refrigerator. You can leave it in an open top pitcher or one that is airtight and enclosed. The tea is best within 3 days, beyond that it becomes bitter and loses it’s freshness.
