This Peach Basil Mocktail tastes like late summer in a glass! It’s juicy peaches muddled with brown sugar and bold basil, then topped with club soda to make a super refreshing drink.
Feel free to add zero proof spirits, or leave it as is. I give recommendations below.
This drink goes great with my Caprese Penne Pasta or Garlic Basil Chicken. Both are fresh and loaded with basil.
Fresh ingredients and non alcoholic drinks just go together, and my Peach Basil Mocktail does not disappoint. It uses in season peaches and basil from the garden to make a lightly sweetened, super bubbly drink.
It’s easy to make for summer dinner parties, after a long day in the garden, or just because you are feeling peachy. And if you have extra peaches lying around, you might want to try my Peach Cobbler or Peach Mango Pie.
Peach Basil Mocktail Ingredients
This drink recipe is 5 simple and flavorful ingredients. Keep reading for important notes and potential substitutions.
- Fresh Peach: Be sure to wash it before cutting up into small chunks. And remember, the riper the better because we want a sweet and juicy peach.
- Fresh Basil: Again, wash your basil to get rid of any dirt or debris.
- Brown Sugar: This is to add sweetness to our mocktail. Brown sugar tastes delicious with peaches but you can also use honey, maple syrup, or even granulated sugar.
- Orange Juice: Orange is super similar to peach which makes it the perfect addition to this mocktail. Feel free to use freshly squeezed or bottled juice.
- Club Soda: This adds bubbles and lifts up the flavors. I prefer club soda because it is zero calories and I always have little bottles on my bar cart. You can also use sparkling water, tonic water, or mineral water.
How to Make a Peach Basil Mocktail
1. MUDDLE together peach, basil, brown sugar, and orange juice.
2. TOP WITH CLUB SODA and stir well before sipping.
ELIZABETH’S TIP: Taste test and alter your mocktail to your taste preferences! You may need to add a little more brown sugar if your peach wasn’t as sweet. Or you can add more club soda to reduce to amount of sweetness if your peach was super sweet.
3 Things That Will Your Mocktail Taste Better Instantly!
1. CHOOSE A GOOD PEACH – This is so important because it will alter the flavor of your mocktail. If you choose an under ripened peach or one that isn’t sweet, your mocktail will not taste very good. I like to taste test my peaches first. Another note, adding more sugar will make it sweet but will also lessen the peach flavor.
2. WASH YOUR PEACH AND BASIL LEAVES – You definitely do not want any dirt, debris, or lingering pesticides in your mocktail. All you have to do is spray them with vinegar, allow it to sit for about 5 minutes, and then rinse with cool water.
3. ADD ZERO PROOF SPIRITS – I like to add a dry brut champagne to make it a spritz. You can also add bourbon, tequila, gin, white wine, or non alcoholic orange bitters.
