These Honey Mustard Sausages are incredibly addicting, and for good reasons. Plump smoky sausages get coated in a tangy honey mustard sauce, then served with a creamy mustard mayo for that extra zip of flavor.

They’re the perfect appetizer for the holidays, gameday, or when you need a crowd-pleasing appetizer that comes together in little to no time.

Every Christmas, on Christmas Day, my family skips the big dinner and goes all in on the appetizers. These Honey Mustard Sausages are always the first to disappear from the table because of their incredible flavor. They’ve become such a tradition for us that Christmas wouldn’t feel the same without them.

What makes them irresistible? They’re smoky, sweet, a little spicy from the mustard, and that tangy dipping sauce just takes everything to the next level. The best part? You wouldn’t believe they’re only 4 ingredients and come together in just 30 minutes!

For another saucy appetizer try these Honey Sriracha Meatballs, they’ve got great flavor just like these sausages. Or if you want more honey mustard, this Apple Kale Slaw is tossed in a honey mustard dressing that’s so good!

Honey Mustard Sausages Ingredients

Here’s everything you will need to make these sausages. Keep reading for a few important notes.

  • Cocktail Sausages: You’ll need 2, 14 ounce packages of pre-cooked sausages. Feel free to grab your favorite brand, the ones from Aldi are delicious by the way.
  • Raw Honey: Local honey is the best if you can get your hands on some.
  • Mustard: I recommend stone ground for this recipe because it’s the perfect spicy, pungent mustard flavor.
  • Optional Dipping Sauce: This is just a simple combination of mayonnaise and the stone ground mustard. I highly recommend making it because people really love dipping these sausages.

How to Make Honey Mustard Sausages

Here’s a quick summary of the steps, just so you can see how easy this recipe is to make.

1. Toss Sausages with Honey Mustard. To a baking dish, add the cocktail sausages and honey mustard mixture. Toss together until everything is well coated.

2. Bake and Rest Before Serving. Bake the sausages for 15 to 20 minutes and toss halfway through to recoat them in the glaze. Once out of the oven allow them to rest while you stir together the mustard and mayonnaise sauce. Serve warm, with the sauce and toothpicks or a serving spoon.

Helpful Recipe Tips

Make them ahead of time for the holidays. These Honey Mustard Sausages are great for prepping ahead. Just add the cocktail sausages and honey mustard sauce to a baking pan, cover and refrigerate up to one day before you plan on baking them.

Toss again for saucier sausages. Once out of the oven I let mine cool a bit and tossing them again. This gives the sauce time to thicken up and stick to the sausages even more. I find that 15 to 20 minutes is a good amount of time.

Storing Leftovers

Any leftover Honey Mustard Sausages should be stored in an airtight container and in the refrigerator. They’re best within 3 to 4 days. I recommend re-warming them in the microwave, on the stove-top, or snacking on them cold.
