Chocolate Orange Cake Hot EspressO granular sugar navel orange zest/ juice all-purpose flour unsweetened cocoa powder baking powder salt buttermilk vegetable oil egg Chocolate Buttercream semi-sweet chocolate; melted unsalted butter powdered sugar unsweetened cocoa powder salt candied orange slices
Rub together the sugar and orange zest. Add dry ingredients. Whisk together the wet ingredients and combine them with the dry ingredients. Pour into cake pans and bake.
CHOCOLATE ORANGE CAKE
Beat the butter until light. Add the dry mixture and beat until well combined. Drizzle in the melted chocolate and beat until full incorporated and light.
CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM
Cut cooled cakes in half. Place bottom layer on serving dish, add chocolate buttercream. Add top layer, and add more buttercream. Garnish with an orange slice.
