– 1 tbsp olive oil – ½ diced onion – 1 clove minced garlic – 1 ¼ cup apple butter – 1 cup ketchup – ½ cup apple cider vinegar – ¼ cup brown sugar – 1 tbsp Worcestershire – 1 tsp salt – 1 tsp pepper – ½ tsp chili powder
Add the olive oil and onion to your saucepan. Sweat onion for 5-10 minutes or until soft/ translucent. Add garlic and sauté for another 1-2 minutes.
Add the remainder of ingredients to your saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce to a simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes.
Pour into a glass jar and store in the refrigerator for up to three weeks. RECIPE makes about 2 - 12 ounce jars of Apple Butter BBQ Sauce.
